report from 2025
Night of Women’s Vocals 11.–12. 4. 2025
11. 4. – Jazzdock
We opened the festival on Friday at Jazz Dock, where the club was bursting at the seams with an audience that breathed every note with us. A commendable lineup of singers took the stage: Elena Sonenshine, Simona Hulejová, Julia Kozáková, Barbora Kafková, Yellow Sisters, Lenka Novotná, and Petra Ernyei, accompanied by outstanding musicians: Ondřej Kabrna (piano), Adam Tvrdý (guitar), Petr Dvorský (double bass), and Martin Kopřiva (drums).
Jana Koubková, whose boundless energy opened the evening, holds an esteemed place in our hearts.
Many thanks to ZUŠ Open and the Magdalena Kožená Foundation, whose support enabled us to introduce the audience to the young and talented Emilie Bukajová.
Friday’s program also featured an afternoon vocal workshop led by Mirka Novak, rich with the pleasure of collective singing, mutual support, and the excitement of participants enjoying their own voices. In the evening, workshop participants joined the band on stage, becoming an integral part of the festival with a performance expressing courage, openness, and enthusiasm. It was deeply moving for both the audience and the artists themselves.
12. 4. – Winternitzova vila
The second day at Winternitz Villa took us into another world.
Blooming cherry trees, calm corners, the aroma of freshly made crêpes, and the quiet anticipation of something grand made for a truly magical mood.
Visitors also enjoyed a guided tour of the villa, discovering the moving and deeply human story of the Winternitz family.
The lunchtime matinée by Radka Fišarová ended with a standing ovation, and her encore echoed through the villa long afterwards.
Radka Fišarová also led an inspiring vocal workshop for students of the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory, Studio ZPĚV PLZEŇ, and the general public, sharing her openness, experience, and passion for singing.
The evening was shaped by two exceptional concerts.
Simona Hulejová delivered a breathtaking performance, effortlessly blending Slovak folk music with chanson and jazz. Ľubomír Gašpar moved seamlessly between the cimbalom and the double bass, demonstrating remarkable versatility and energy.
Singer Ridina Ahmedová and double bassist Petr Tichý created an intimate, colorful musical landscape and silences in which listeners could lose themselves.
The audience also welcomed the young singer Adéla Řehořová, another talented artist discovered through our collaboration with ZUŠ Open.
Festival Merchandise:
Our festival collection also featured exclusive handmade accessories, including resin earrings with gold layers, a gold-plated bracelet, and our signature Night of Women’s Vocals jewellery—pieces proudly worn by many of our festival artists.
